So I have been working on a few of my own little projects, one of the is a small cycle of less than 50mm and 8mm tall, the print time is 28min on 0.08 layer height.
Having printed what is a final item of the quality I wanted I found that the item was to tight for its intended purpose now. So I adjusted the Y value from 55.49mm to 56mm. The print time has shot to 58min.
I have tried undo, redo, I have tried going from 100% to 101% with the same result. I have tried reloading the file and then implementing the change with the same result. No other setting has been altered along with this change?
What is the issue please? I have actually printed the file and my slight adjustment has printed as intended no gigantism occurred!
Something going on here is odd, and I don’t think there’s enough information to make a confident assessment of what’s going on. Fortunately there’s a way you can dig deeper into this yourself!
Go to the Bambu settings menu and click the box that allows multiple instances of Bambu Studio to run.
Open two instances, load and slice your original in one, load and slice the new part in the other, and then compare the previews of each. Look at material usage, line type, distance traveled, etc.
It’s going to be pretty obvious pretty quickly where the difference is.

The one on the right is the original.
The second one shows more purge and print time also a lot more filament.
I have weighed the printed items and measured, again the original is very close to what was expected, the second print was lighted than the predicted weight by 0.3g and also smaller than the original by about 0.3mm.
I think rather than spend hours on this I will resize the item in fusion before import and just add as an extra item the delete the original to see if that is an easier option.
I’m guessing by scaling the model up you are allowing features and filament changes that were previously ignored as unprintable to now be printable.
Bank on 90-120sec every filament change. However the model changed [that isnt shown to us, so we have to guess/infer about that 101percent in context of an assembly] aded 8 filament changes, so about +15mins there. Youll have to show us more to see
