I just bought a 0.2 nozzle for my P1 and trying to get it working. It prints fine, but when it reaches the last couple layers, it looses it. I’m not sure if it’s melting the top layers or dropping a clump of melted filament onto the top. That last bits become a glossy lump.

Anyone have anby ideas about what could be wrong? I tried calibrating the nozzle, but the tests all came out fine.

From the look of the pic, problems are evident much earlier than the top layers.
Did you dry the filament yourself? New filament is freuqently moist.
Layer height is 0.08mm with the 0.2mm nozzle? That is getting close to the minimum flow control capabilities of the printer. Especially if the filament is moist, has to travel through a long PTFE and the print is long as the low flow can lead to insufficient hot end cooling and hence heat creep. To help prevent the latter, keep the door (and maybe lid) open.

Sorry. It’s a P1P using the stock 0.06 fine profile.
Had no problem with the filament using the 0.4 nozzle. Printed just fine.
To check the issue, it would help to also upload the .3mf file so we can review the settings you used for the print — that allows for faster diagnosis. (Alternatively, just sending a screenshot of the toolpath for the layer where you think the problem occurs, along with a screenshot of your print settings, would also be helpful.)
Thanks. That is actually in line with my suspicions.
The 0.4mm nozzle has twice the flow of a 0.2mm nozzle for a given layer height.
So a fair comparison would be a .4 nozzle and a 0.03mm layer height.
From my own trials, that is doable with a .4 nozzle but borderline even with perfectly dry filament. And the .2 nozzles are more prone to heat creep anyway (although that is much more noticeable on the 2nd gen Bambu’s).
I’d recommend to dry the filament thoroughly before making another attempt while monitoring the environment/chamber temp. Stay well below 35°C (for PLA).
If that print fails though, you can consider going to an 0.08 min layer height or switching again to the .4mm nozzle with the Arachne wall generator and a 0.06mm layer height.
You could also increase flow by increasing speed but, well, that leads to a whole individual test matrix…
