Does the H2D support 0.2mm on both left and right nozzles?
Yes you can use 0.2mm nozzle on the left and right extruder. The only current limitation is that you canāt have dissimilar sized nozzles on the left and right at the same time.
Thank you. I was getting conflicting information about this. I know that it is not a good thing with the X2D, but that limitation has more to do with the Bowden extruder.
Two separate sizes can be installed, however, you can only use one at a time.
This is due to the single extruder requiring two equal sized nozzles during extrusion.
Okay, thatās another wish-list item (mixed nozzle sizes). For now I would be happy if I could print 0.2mm on both nozzles for two colors.
Hereās an OrcaSlicer pull request that enables independent L/R nozzle sizes:
I look forward to that happening.
However, right now I want to install 0.2mm nozzles in both left and right hot ends at the same time.
You can. To be clear, Bambu recommends against it because bowden systems fundamentally struggle with such small nozzles, thatās an inherent quality and isnāt fixable with software. Improvements are possible, but they will never overcome these physical limitations entirely.
You can 100% still try to make it work, with a very well-optimized feed path for that extruder and doing your own work to tune the print profile to optimize itās performance. It may work very well for you, Iāve seen others make 0.2mm nozzles work with bowden setups in the past.
Well, this is for an H2D, so no Bowden extruder to worry about.
X2D is going up for sale.
Sorry, I donāt know how or why the X2D came into the discussion. My fault.
You can use 0.2mm nozzles on both sides of the H2D right now. This has always been possible on the H2D and H2C.
