Be nice if MakerWorld had an option to toss out inaccurate ratings if it’s obvious. I have a model for a storage tray/basket that almost 800 downloads with a fairly high average rating. Recently I was given a 1-star review which stands out from all the other ratings and the reviewer cited, “it kept freezing my printer”. I am fairly certain the freezing printer has nothing to do with the model or print profile. I reached out to the reviewer in both the comments section and by DM and asked if I can help with the freezing printer. Crickets.
Is it possible that people create fictitious accounts to give poor ratings?
Would guess it’s just some person organically taking out their frustration on you without feeling that they owe you any level or fairness or reconsideration of it.
I’m sure accounts are created with the intention to review bomb or bad mouth a given design/artist, but if it’s just one then most likley it’s not at all personal or it’s totally personal.
After attempts at communication fail (on a side note - people with account below level 7 can’t DM, possibly can’t even reply to DMs on MW), there’s an option to report rating. I had some success going that route with removing incorrect ratings.
not much you can do about that, I have a model with 200+ 5 star, and one person gave me a bad review , and now every one is looking at that bad review before they download it
Yes. Not only possible, actually happens. Did that happen here? Couldn’t say that for sure. You can try and report it as inaccurate or spam, it might get removed.
I’d like to see more user engagement metrics, particularly focusing on site activity. For example, when viewing a user’s profile, it’s easy to identify contributors by the models or profiles they’ve uploaded. However, there’s no visibility into their comments on models or forum posts, nor whether their commentary receives upvotes. Adding a downvote feature would also provide additional insight into this metric, offering a more complete picture of a given user.
