100% frustrated with the H2D and the support

Having had a similar experience (,X1 Lidar issues: Question to X1 users - #9 by EnoTheThracian), I got to say, I feel ya.

But I do think that you do have a good chance to get a full refund. But … it takes time and nerves.

From what I gathered, you seem to have been well within the warranty period when you filed your first ticket? That is all that matters! If that problem still exists now despite actions taken at the direction of Bambu Support, you can quite simply state the fault to still exist and demand a full refund upon return of the printer.

In my experience, there are a few things that matter on this road:

  • Desipte everything and although difficult and painful: Be polite. Whoever is on the other side is (ideally) also human.
  • You should also be clear and spell it out that you just want to return the printer for a refund. Exactly that and nothing else.
  • Reinforce the need: In my case, and it may have just been coincidence, the cork came out of the bottle when I wrote a review on TrustPilot. The forum post I made was apparently not enough. If you have some pic’s of the chips you found in the extruder and that foil and post them with your review…
  • Be tenacious and patient

Man I really feel for you. I was terrified of receiving a lemon because I read about too many people having it happen to them. Dealing with support is hard and a slow crawl. Every time you send a message you have to wait days for a response.

I’m dealing right now with an ams that at only 35 days old the dryer heater stopped working and just blows cold error while giving an error that the sensor found that the heater is abnormal. Support sent me a new heater which was easy to install but it changed nothing. The heater is still blowing cold air. I sent them photos I took of the installation and reported back that it is still not working. It’s been 6 days without a response.

Wow! Im really sorry! I hope this gets resolved soon

I love my Bambu printers, even my H2D. I have already had AMS 2 Pro replaced, and I should get my AMS Lite replaced. I have done all they have asked me to do. But you get to a certain point and just replace it. In the UK you get 30 days to get a replacement. But I am not and never will be a full-on fanboy, lol.
Hope you get sorted soon, mate. Did you pay by credit card? You could do a chargeback like we can in the UK. Before you go the lawyer route.

I wonder what would cause the same code to behave so differently. I assume there isn’t an issue with the location of the printer? Meaning a wobbly table? I doubt it…
Is it possible to start replacing parts that could have effects like you are mentioning? All of the rails, print head, stuff like that? Might be throwing away more money.

Hi Micha,

Bambu Lab GmbH is located here in Frankfurt am Main. Try to give them a call and explain what is going on. Otherwise open a Paypal or Credit Card claim for a broken machine without giving you the support this case needs. It´s kinda sad that even the Bambu Lab Support doens´t step into this thread and give you a chance to report the problem to another instance.

@BambuLab Come on, this can´t be a way to treat a customer for a high quality brand with products in these price ranges.

Sounds like a corrupted memory issue with random prints succeeding and failing and random layer shifts. Maybe a differnt USB stick.

Good luck getting it resolved.

@V6CMG The printer sits on a 100-kilogram concrete slab with two others. I don’t think I’m moving anything there.

@DigiDavis That was one of my first suspicions. I’ve replaced the SD card and stick several times.

@DeeSea Yes, I know. But it’s just a mailbox company. My lawyer has already checked this. But there’s no phone number, email, or anything else.

There’s only the mailing address and registration as a GmbH.

Even the phone number listed in the company directory is dead.

That’s what I plan to do.

But first, I have to set a deadline here.

And this is why i skipped calling support…

I just simple ordered a new 4 in one for the extruder , because spool 2 on my ams lite kept having loading problems. took apart the old 4 in one… full of sticky goo. like the back of sticky tape that has been in the hot sun… new 4 in 1 fixed the problem… did this since i got it (3 weeks now)

a wobly table wouldn’t make the printer stop mid print.

he’s not a native english speaker either… he’s german.

Here’s my take on this. I’ve been there, Done that have the scars in my brain still from t. IF you are the one cranking the wrench on a support techs advise. Video record it all. Explain each step you are performing based on what they asked you to do. When you find debris that more than likely was during assembly, stop right there, make sure you get good pictures, and do not clean it.
Based on what you found, its a factory defect and the unit MUST be replaced. If you continue to work on it, clean it, then getting it replaced due to what you found can be difficult because the damaging material was removed.

It’s too late for the OP, he is on the correct path having Legal perform the dirty work of getting it replaced.

As to what the main issue is, I would point to the control boards, there is something out of whack with how its processing data, sending the wrong signals, or getting the wrong information from the signals. At that point, its better to replace the entire unit than replacing the control boards and sensors.

The problem I had was with a drill press. I bought it new, went to drill a 3/4" hole with a spade bit and it make egg shaped holes. I sent it in at MY COST, they “repaired” it and sent it back. It still made egg shaped holes. I dug into it and found the quill moved when extended, it was missing the lower bearings.

When I brought it back to the store they refused to give me a refund and I gave them a few choice words and dropped the thing on their floor. oops. It was a floor stand type drill, so tall, heavy, cast iron base, you get the picture, it made a hell of a racket. I eventually got them to refund the money that night. I went and bought a Delta instead, 30 years on now and not a single issue.

Obviously every electronic device is going to have a few lemons unfortunately, but you definitely have done your due diligence trying to get this one up and running. Even though you shouldn’t have to especially with a printer like this one. I definitely would have returned for a replacement immediately when I realized it wasn’t right, but I can’t understand why you attempted to fix it. Have you directly asked or demanded a replacement of the whole printer?

as you are located in Germany the best course of action, although frustrating, is the legal route.

What i would do is basically write a short formal letter to Bambu, demanding a full serviced repair under European consumer rights. If they don’t oblige, you will take legal action.

As a appendix to your letter, you can disclose the steps you have taken, photos of debris you have found etc.

And with respect to the argument ‘you already did too much and you can’t prove you kept the printer working’ - Bambu has an extensive wiki with disassembly and replacement guides on nearly anything. The H2D part store shows how many parts you can replace by self-service. (Which i think really speaks for Bambu, there are a lot of companies that can learn from this)
And given your background you are more than qualified to dismantle these machines.

So if it would come to a court case, i’m pretty confident that you can prove that you did everything within your capability to find the defect yourself, even beyond what can be expected of a consumer.

But i hope Bambu resolves it before it gets this far. As I said, start with a simple plain letter, demanding a full repair/swap supported by your findings and file a lawsuit if they decline.

Sucks OP, I’m sorry. Hopefully someday with all this money Bambu Labs is making they will put more effort into customer support and save themselves the hassle of pissing off their customers that truly have major machine issues.

Got a update.

Today now BambuLab told me he refund my money and i can ship the printer back.

so… the final question is… are you going to patiently wait for the next sale to try again now you know the inside-out of this printer?
