2 issues I am having with Bambu Studio

Greatings.. I am newer to Bambu. I have a H2C and an H2S. One of the biggest headaches I am having is sometimes when I am opening a new project and select a project and pick one of my printers, for some reason it will not pick the right AMS for that printer. sometimes it will let me pick the right ams after slicing and under the print plate window, It will let me select the right ams. This is not always the case. Sometimes I will close everything, and it will let me do it the next time. The issue is then I have to go back and reselect the right colors for what parts.

The other frustrating thing is, sometimes when slicing something it will add “trim” not sure what it is called, but it makes the parts much bigger, and I have to print fewer things at a time. I would like to disable this for sure.

Hi, welcome to the forums!

I’m not sure on the first question, as I only have 1 printer to work with. :smiling_face_with_tear:

This is usually called a “brim” and can be changed/disabled in the project properties under Other → Bed adhesion → Brim type. It is set to “Auto” by default, which in some cases may add brims unnecessarily (or errs on the side of caution).

Cheers,
-Max

Hi Max,

Thank you on both cases. I found brim and set it to No-Brim.

Your print is likely to fail without a brim. It’s too large and too straight, the shrinking force would try to pull your part off from the plate. Be careful when sending prints like this.

Hi Hotellonely,

okay, I will definitely keep watch of this. I have had 3 other printers, many, many years ago and the shake with these is crazy. Right now, I am printing the plate above as is, but I really need needed 4 of each of these rails. When these are finished, I am going to try again without the brim to see what happens.

Thank you for your input. I have so much to learn.
