No, you’re right. My AMS came with 3 V2 First stage feeders and one V3, which had the orange gears. But the replacement V3 feeder I got had yellow gears, so I think its just random.
I doubt its the spool, since it works fine in other slots. The weight seems to be a bigger factor. Gotta start remembering to put the emptier spools in that slot
