I have P1S, just bought AMS. I don’t know much about it, but wish to print 3 color tags. I design the first 2 layers as red, the next 2 layers with depressed text (cut) using white, the top 2 layers as black with extruded text. How do I have the AMS print this? I have been adding a pause between layers changing the filament and resume doing this twice…it was not really much effort, but this is one reason the purchase.
Without any 3mf or screenshots, this is a stab in the dark.
Select your model in Bambu Studio (BS), right-click and and select ‘height range modifier’.
On the left side of BS, make sure you have the ‘Objects’ tab selected so you can see the plates and models on the plates listed. It should have jumped there for you the first time.
With the ‘layers’ node selected, look at the bottom of the screen to see a single entry of a from and to value in mm.
Assuming you have 0.2mm layers, do the following:
- Enter the number 0 in the from box
- Enter 0.4 in the to box
- Press the plus symbol
- Enter 0.4 in the from box
- Enter 0.8 in the to box
- Press the plus symbol
- Enter 0.8 in the from box
- Enter 1.2 in the to box
You will see each of those entries under your model in the objects list above.
Select them in turn and press the number of the filament you wish at that level colour on your keyboard, you will see the little swatch to the right of each layer range change to match your selection. You can also click the swatch and choose which filament will be used from your already selected filament pool at the top of the screen.
Select all three and slice the plate.
Your preview should show you your model in the colours you selected.
Your model is expected to be 1.2mm tall based on the information you supplied. If not, change the values to match your needs.
