5 colors on a single layer without 2nd ams

Is there a way to get 5 colors without a 2nd ams? I’m making hard pelican style cases and I need to get a logo with 4 colors (white, red, blue, green) on to a black case.

It needs to be on the same layer, the logo is on top of the case and it’s being printed face down.

I think this will work: Add 5 colors in Bambu Studio. Then when hitting print map Color 1 and Color 5 to AMS Slot 1. It should print color one, then while it’s printing color 2-4 you can remove the filament from slot one and change it to color 5.

Hi

There is a procedure in MakerWorld there

Up to 6 colors

And another one there

Up to 16 colors

Both with one single AMS

Have fun

Purchase an AMS HT

Great answer. He also could just buy a second AMS. But guess what …

I agree with @Dextera, you should purchase a second AMS. It opens up a lot of possibilities. It may seem bot that useful but I find it extremely convenient.

Yeah. Thats not what i have said. And totally not what he was asking for.

That really doesn’t help solve his problem. Some people don’t want to buy another AMS…hence the post title…and the AMS HT isn’t available yet anyways. Also 99% sure Dextera was being sarcastic…

Make it 100%
You guys have already the answer.

“Buy an AMS” in a thread with the title “without 2nd AMS” was just … yeah. Irresistible for a little sarcastic answer

If you have patience, you can do it even without an AMS. I did a few 5 color prints to my nephew before I had an AMS, and the looked great, with manual filament change.

I keep answering this with lots of examples I created myself, check it out.
