what upgrades should i buy with the 50 dolar amazon card i got for christmas

Dishwashing liquid, a couple of clean dishwashing brushes, a plastic scraper, maybe a filament drier, storage bags (for filament) and dessiccant. Invest the rest in filament.

Or go for popcorn. I love to watch my little printer tirelessly laboring away :joy:

You probably already have “didhwashing” stuff at home, as I would say those are basic “nessesitys”.
Do not use “rubbjng alcihol” unless it is 100% pure as it will leave a residue on the build plate which is bad for adhesion. You can test this by putting some on a cloth and wiping glass with it. If it leaves streaks it is not 100% pure

99 percent is not ideal, but definitely do not use 70 percent as it will leave a lot of residue on the build plate.

What is would probably recommend instead of getting it from Nasa (That might be quite pricy) is to just use dish soap and rinse it off after.

Yes. You want to clean the plate with water and dishwashing liquid rather than swiping the oils and residue into the textured plates valleys with IPA.

But then again, I expect your mom has all you really need for plate cleaning already :smiley:

Malc was mistaken. Stripes only make cars go faster. To get a 3D printer to go faster you’re going to need LEDs, lots of LEDs.

leds? i have a bike light that i use to moniter prints

The main issue I believe is the bittering agent mixed into most isopropyl alcohol, which will build up on the plate over time.
