- Printer: A1 with ASM.
- Model: A1 Cleaning Kit
Photo 1. The model. - 2-color print - white box with hinged lid and latch, and colour logo on plate layer.
- Experience: Several previous printers. This is my second print on my new A1. A little poop basket printed very well.
- Filament: Bambu PLA matte. White case. Blue logo / graphics.
- Settings: default with base layer set to 0.4 mm and wall generator set to Arachne. Support was enabled. (These were recommended by another post in this forum in an attempt to prevent an error message regarding missing first layer.)
The general result is delightful considering the printer is just out of the box.
Problems
Photo 2. My first attempt.
- The hinges are seized on both the main hinge (lid to base) and on the latch (to lid). I cracked the edge of the lid trying to rotate the hinge.
- The first layer deposited the white before the blue infill resulting in inconsistent blue line width and poor edges. I suspect that definition would be better if the graphics were printed first.
- Two blue circles appeared on the second layer and appear to be the base of some white support. On the Studio preview they appear on the first layer.
- I’m missing the blue top-layer on the base (highlighting the XYZ characters in photo 1). Going back to the preview I can see they’re not there.
Questions
- What settings should I try to prevent the hinge surfaces fusing together?
- Would you recommend printing the blue graphics first? How do I change the object print order?
Items 3 and 4 seem to be fixed if I download the model into Studio afresh.
Many thanks.
