So for a while now I have been unable to print large flat prints because it appears the nozzle will pull them up. If i am lucky enough to get past the first layer issues then support trees getting knocked off when they get about 1 cm tall. I am using a brand new bambu lab .4 mm stainless steel nozzle and printing on
a new textured pei plate. I have tried changing the infill and the infill retraction. No luck. Support has tried but I still am having issues and am getting frustrated. If anyone can help I would be so thankful. Printer is an A1. 1 year old. In great condition. It has always been in a climate controlled room. Had the proper maintenance done.
How are you cleaning your plate? To me this looks like a classic oily plate. Here is the wiki with steps to properly clean PEI plates.
Once your plate is clean you need to be mindful not to touch the printing area with your fingers as these oils will transfer to the plate and cause adhesion issues like you are seeing.
It can be difficult to get a texPEI plate to a clean state, and may need multiple cleans. You can’t see the oil, and those nooks and crannies are perfect for holding grime. If youve only used soap, do a round of cleaning with IPA [or vice versa] to maybe try to get some other contaminant dissolved that your current regimen isnt getting.
I use dawn and warm soapy water. When they are dry i clean with 91% isopropyl alcohol. That being said i guess i didn’t get it as clean as i thought. Thank you.
Only the 99% IPA for sure. It starts to dissolve the coating. I started to see the color transferring to my cloth. By then, it was too late and not much of anything was sticking. I marked that side with a big X and changed my cleaning process. I still use ~70% for a quick wipe when I know I’ve touched/handled it. (Or if it has set in the printer for a while.)
