This one is printed with bambulab matte blue (it is been there for a while).
Havent got the chance to try this setting on a seperate material. I suspect the result wont change as much, since I used ironing before and they r all defective at different degree. Could this be a machine problem or bad filament (this case i have to giveup amazon filament)
You should test each filament individually to determine the ideal iron settings for that specific type, also even different colors may require adjustments.
I recommend starting with some basic PLA iron tests to see what works best for that filament. This will help you learn the fundamentals and gain valuable knowledge.
You should also consider using at least 4 top shell layers, depending on the layer height sometimes even more.
Slowing down the top surface print speed or reducing the top surface line width to around 0.35 or 0.38 can help improve results with certain filaments.
The goal is to give the iron layer the smoothest possible foundation to start with.
Adjusting the iron layer:
I haven’t tried this model myself, but I believe it could help you achieve better results and enhance your learning.
bro i can tell you printing on a small sample plate means nothing, my problem is about geting inconsistent ironing result on a large plate model. Also here is my setting, thought I posted it above:
I have friends who s been ironing pla matte and getting surface like mousse cake. I tried copying his setting too, only thing is his machine is P1S, not sure if that determines a lot
Have you checked the bed tramming and ensured that your print bed is level?
There appears to be some over-extrusion in other parts of the print. Also, nozzle temperature can affect PLA sometimes a 5°C difference can make a significant impact.
