A1 Making Weird Noise

When my printer gets to the end of the vibration test it makes this noise. It only makes it one time and prints fine. I’ve tightened all 5 screws on the hotend assembly and made sure the nozzle is seated. I’ve done a couple cold pulls. Last week there was a piece of old filament stuck in the extruded so I took everything apart and cleaned it making sure the cutting blade was in its slot before reassembly. Hopefully someone will know where to look next.

did you check the extruder gear?

Start ruling things out.

  • Remove the contraption on top of the print head wrapped around the four PTFE tube inlets.
  • Disconnect all the PTFE tubes on the print head.
  • Remove the print head cover (front panel) and the custom rotating disc.

Connect a spool externally and repeat whatever you did to create the video.

Questions:

  1. Does it do the same?
  2. Are sure the sound is coming from the print head?
  3. What does the LCD screen say when it makes the noise, ie: what stage of the process is it at, including and temps of the nozzle and bed.
  4. Have you recently changed the nozzle?
  5. Have you recently changed the build plate?
  6. Is the build plate correctly positioned and aligned?
  7. Does the nozzle have any obvious damage?
  8. Does the build plate have any obvious damage?
  9. Is the build plate self-levelling still enabled? (If not, turn and try again.)
  10. What filament:
    1. is (was) installed?
    2. type (PETG, PLA, TPU etc)?
    3. what sub-type (+, HF, HS, 90A etc)?
    4. who manufactured it (Bambu Lab, eSun etc)?
    5. Does the sent job match the installed filament?

I look forward to answers.

When I reassembled after removing the piece of jammed filament last week I apparently had the tensioner too tight. I backed off a hair on the screw for the extruder idler lever and it’s perfect now.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
