Hey fellow Bambuers,
My A1 has been acting up lately while color changing. It seems like it’s failing to return back to the same z position after it color changes. It has been pretty hit and miss with this thing lately. Not sure what’s causing this at all. I’ve had this printer for a little over a year.
Any advice is appreciated!
Please, share screenshots of the preview screen showing the filament view.
Which surface of the models you hold was on the build plate?
Can you look at your nozzle at 90° sides to see if the nozzle is straight down to the build plate at right angles on all sides.
You may find it easier to remove the nozzle to see this more easily.

Not quite sure what you mean by “share screenshots of the preview screen showing the filament view.” The purple surface in the first photo was on the build plate. I just looked at the nozzle and it seems to be straight.
Really the only problem happens when it changes colors. The nozzle always returns back slightly too low.
Assuming you printed this from Bambu Studio on a computer, you start in the prepare tab, use the slice button and are taken to the preview tab.
In the preview tab, you can swap between several legend views by changing the drop down, take a screenshot of of that view.
That purple base is really poor quality, that is not the result of any colour changes.
Combined with the quality issues between the purple and black change, this is why I am thinking you have have a nozzle angle issue.

I get what you’re thinking, but because most of the model printed fine and it was just the bottom of the purple part and where the two colors come together, I don’t really think it is a nozzle issue. of course, I could be wrong. I do have another .4 nozzle that I can test it on though. I’ll give it a try with the same gcode and see if that does anyhting.

I made the handle two colors in Bambu Studio though.
Here are the pictures with other nozzle. The bottom definitely looks better, but there’s still some oozing where the colors connect.
Well… I solved the problem 
I noticed that the poop bin was quite full and when the printer would go to change colors, it would hit all the poop and that is what was messing up the z offset.
That was quite silly
Anyway, thanks for your time and help! I’m glad I can print with the A1 again 
Well the ■■■■ didn’t hit the fan, but it had an effect!
