I was 10min from the end of a 3hr print,when my printer stopped. I received the above error message.
I have replaced the the TH board, put new hot end in. When I power up the printer I still get this same error message but now I also get the message - The toolhead is malfunctionin. Restart the machine.
I have powered down & restarted multiple times. Still get message. Hotend does heat up but not registering temp in control & not printing.
I read in a post to do a full power cycle. As I am just a newbie- How do I do that?
Not sure about the rest, but this fancy for: “switch it off, wait 10+ seconds, switch it on again”…
Bonus points for using a “high impedanve air gap” to create a “discontinuity in the main power supply” during the wait.
Certainly more likely to succeed than the more common “percussive maintenance” which in extreme cases may lead to “thermal or thermomechanical disassembly”…
& 
PS: If it doesn’t work, it may be a case for a ticket though.
I have now tried the full power cycle & factory reset. printer will not calibrate and now I get “ z axis error message. I Have entered a support ticket.

To clarify, does this mean you are able to set the nozzle temp to [example] 220C on the pad of the device, the nozzle will heat up IRL, but it still says 0 and/or room temp on the pad of the device?
If that’s the case, your hotend heating assembly [which includes the thermister that reads temp] may be dead/problematic and thats where I’d focus.
The eddy current sensor is a seperate issue IMO, and is a different replacable sensor, and is testable if you have a multimeter. Homing and leveling failure troubleshooting guide for A1 series | Bambu Lab Wiki

5/21/2026 Recieved errors- extruder eddy current sensor signal is abnormal, probably broken. & toolhead is malfnctioning please restart. I have replaced th TH board. & did a factory reset. The errors did not clear after multiple restarts & printer will not calibrate
5/28/2026 I have done all the steps in the wiki. I replaced the TH board and the hot end and still the problem exists. I have factory reset and still the problem exists. The calibration does not complete because of the issue.
5/28/2026 [Support said] Second, if you have already replaced the TH board, the remaining components to be troubleshot are the USB cable and the extruder unit. If you have the necessary equipment, you may also refer to the instructions in our previous email and perform direct measurements using a multimeter.
Finally, please ensure that the ribbon cable is securely seated—as shown in the image below—and perform another test. Please then report your test results back to us. Thank you for your cooperation!

6/1/2026 I have replaced the usb cable and rec message firmware update required. Update was successful. I installed a new nozzle. Rec error code 0300-1800-0001-0001. nozzle heats up via maintenance mode. z axis homing failed
I Feel I am spending more money & time to keep trying to repair this then I spent purchasing it 6mos ago.
I just heard fom support. AFTER following ALL of their instructions & purchaseing many parts to try to get it working & going through the process of elimination, they have determined the only thing left to replace is the extruder unit, but that part only has a 90day warranty so now I have to spend another 45.00 to find out if the problem is then resolved.

Funds spent on parts to try to find out what is wrong $95,00 not including the price for replacement extruder.

I’ve been having some problems with my a1 mini as well. When it does the pre print calibrations at the start it asks me if the filament has been extruded, it didn’t do this for the first month but it’s concerning how much filament it wastes.
6/09/26 Bambu support sent out a new extruder. I have completed the install. All looks good, the machine calibrates but the vibration check is much louder than before. When I go to print an model I still get the message z-axis homing has been stopped. I rechecked all my cables and wiring. My Hotend is installed correctly. What Now!
It is now 7/1/2026 My printer still not working. Bambu Support has sent a Z-Axis Motor replacement. it looks like too big/ complicated a job for me to do. I removed the extruder & re-installed it to make sure ALL the cables were seated properly. I did a factory reset again. Machine calibration completes fine. I go to print something and during the pre-print process at the tool head cleaning protion I get the Z Axis homing has failed error. Can Someone please help me.
hi just curious i had a similar issue i managed to fix it by reconnecting the usb c cable on the mainboard, have you tried that?
It appears the Z Axis Motor Replace fixed my Issue. Printing Again yea!!!
