A1 mini - Purging filament outside poop bucket after filament change

Hello all,

Anybody has a problem with purging A1 mini purging and pooping outside the dedicated zone?
After I updated to 01.03.00.00 on 17.6.2004. it does it on the last purging (with flushing volumes 1.00 it does like 2 or 3 cycles).

Here is a video https://youtube.com/shorts/TPN8IdaWs-g?si=t-Pg5CLflHxVWk8x

Not sure if it is from the BBL slicer update or the firmware itself but this suck big time. When I bought the printer it was working absolutely flowless and with each update the purging cycle comes worse and worse…
But this… this is … erghhhh…

I am using default profiles (tried 0.2 and 0.16), no tower, made sure it is the A1 mini (not A1) profile. Messed with the purging device as I thought it was the issue (too much resistance) but it is okay. What is more the printer does it every time the same way so I do not believe this is the issue.
Before the update there was no issue that I have spotted.

Anybody has any idea what is going on?

I had that issue after the Firmware update also, rebooting the printer & homing fixed it.

Thanks. Already tried to reboot it like few times.
It homes each time, soooo… I could try homing and doing some calibrations but seems strange.

UPDATE:
What I have tested:

  1. Restart printer. Home it.
  2. Run all calibrations for mesh x y, bed leveling, etc.
  3. Printed a file - same issue. Seems Like if I put purge distance of 0 it does poop outside right in the beggining of color change, if there is more than 0 it does one sweep and the goes outside.
Anyway my purge calibration model (from Makerworld) is a failure as even with distance 0, there is no transition zone. Obviously something is not working fine here!

I rollbacked to ver 01.02.00.00 for the printer (I still do not know if AMS has this option).
After printing the same file as in point (3) (haven’t even closed BBL studio, just re-printed it).

I can confirm that changes are okay now, pooping is in the box. Transitions could be seen in the model and looks pretty good

Should I open a case or just wait for next update? I would imagine it would prompt me each time for upgrade which is not ideal but better than lacking the ability to change colors.

Having the same problem. It poops outside of the box at random times, then I remove the poop manually and on the next color change it’s okay again, haven’t downgraded yet.

On longer prints this could cause problems if left unattended.

Have the same issue. Just update firmware on the A1 mini. I’m sure it was a firmware issue.

Report the issue. The more reports the faster the solution

How to do that?! It makes me angry… :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Where do you make a suggestion to Bambu lab?

Suggesting concerning?

They apear to have resolved the issue in the latest Bambu Studio update (01.09.03.50)
here is the changelog:

Bugfix
1. Fixed the issue that cause some clients were unable to access the MakerWorld region page.

2. Fixed the issue of A1 mini purge filament outside the tray.

3. Fixed the conflict between the cmd+M shortcut for opening the 3D mouse settings and the minimize function on Mac.

The new shortcut for opening the 3D mouse settings on Mac is now cmd+shift+M. The shortcut remains unchanged on Windows. By @Alex Tang

Okay, so Bambu support were quite fast to respond. Took them like 2-3 days to fix the issue and they say in the new version of BBL slicer it should be fixed.
Which is strange as due my testing it works with the old firmware.
