I recently received a A1 which seem a very nice machine for the price. However I have a few questions.
1- When doing some bed levelling at setup the print head went scratching the nozzle on the rear tab area. I guess this is to make sure the nozzle is clear, but to the point of ripping of the coating and leaving a black trace? I worry this has damaged the nozzle tip leading to discussable quality. 3- Print quality (possibly linked to pressure advance (or whatever they call it)) is so and so in spite of using the correct material profile (Sunlu PLA+ 2.0) and doing auto PA. First layer is very slightly under extruded, on walls there are pressure issues (picture) and the top layer is downright crappy (Picture).
Filament is newly opened but I haven’t been able to dry it more as dryer delivery is delayed. Anyhow it looks more like pressure issues than humidity.
I do worry the nozzle got damaged when scraping on the build plate, or? any ideas?
Just my own personal opinion but since moisture levels in filament can affect a number of things, you might want to redo any tuning you do now once you get a drying routine established.
The nozzle wipe is normal, yep. Perhaps even one of the best startup routines for blasting junk off the tip before it calibrates, but does look spooky.
X belt I wouldn’t worry about unless you hear squeaking from rubbing, but retension process on the A1 is 2 minutes, 1 screw, and reachable without disassembly, so if you want to do it go for it. A1 Belt Tensioning | Bambu Lab Wiki
I’d say overall you need to adjust Flow Ratio down 2%, and the PA is maybe off by a little too but not much, by vibes alone. Flow Rate test is in order IMO. Idk what the black crud is on pic 3 but im assuming not reelevant during print time.
Thank you for the replies everyone. Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 haven’t been the easiest to get right on the P2S either, so I’ll try calibrating and hope the drier gets here quickly.
