A1 Print Startup Routine Anomalies

In the past day or 2, I have been experiencing some weird issues during the startup of each print.

Usually, if the filament loaded is not the same color the filament would be cut and then a new filament is pushed.

However, my 2 units of A1 (1 combo, 1 external) suddenly had a weird behavior where in even if the filament is correctly loaded, the A1 would cut the filament and then immediate try to extrude as if it were loading a new one.

For the AMS, it didnt feed into the buffer as it normally does.
For the external one, the filament just sprung out and the extruder kept the extruder running as if there was filament

Both of the units would proceed to the print “as if” there was filament but its actually shooting blanks and the filament is within the tube.

Finally, if i try to force feed the filament for the combo, it works but it encounters unknown error when it starts to color swap.

For the external, it continues the print since it doesnt need to change colors mid print.

I am sure of the following:

  • no broken filament in the buffer,
  • hotend is clean, i just did a cold pull
  • i cleaned the extruder gears for any debris
