A1 Printer not recognized directly

Hello everyone,

Since updating to the latest Version 2.3.0.70, I’ve been having an issue where, when I open Bambu Studio, it doesn’t connect to the printer (no filaments or other information are displayed). I have to manually switch to the “Device” tab once, and then the connection to the printer is established and everything works normally. This is extremely annoying.

Even today’s firmware update to the latest Version 01.07.00.00 hasn’t fixed the problem. Am I the only one experiencing this? Is this a known bug? Is there any fix for it?

If you mean you see no filament entries in the prepare tab or printers listed in the same tab, this is likely a config issue.

When you exit Bambu Studio it saves the last state.

Suggestion to try:

  • Open Bambu Studio
  • Add your printer(s) in from the printer configuration, NOT the device tab
  • Add one or more filaments below in the project filaments, they do not need to relate to your printers own available owns
  • Close Bambu Studio
  • Pause for a few seconds
  • Open Bambu Studio
  • If they reappear as you set, things should be good.
  • Set your environment up as you want, close, wait, open.

If they didn’t and you are using a Mac (possibly also for Windows), this may be a permissions issue and you may need to enable or unblock whatever is causing the issue.

Dear MalcTheOracle

Thanks a lot for your detailed answer. I am using M$ W11 25h2
Bambustudio was always working fine for me over a year now, I did all the udpates. It stopped working with the mentioned latest update.

Imagine, opening something from makerworld directly, its loading the project and so on. then, you want to select the filament you want to use in the prepare tab but as soon as I click a filament, its not even suggesting me the ams or any filament. I switch to device, no device, count to 3 - suddenly device connected, i switch back to Prepare and everything is working fine.

If still not clear I can also upload a recording to yt.

OK, that is a different issue, one with a solution, albeit a workaround.

It is a bug that keeps coming back, what is referred to as a regression bug.

  • Open your model
  • Jump to the device tab
  • Select your printer from the dropdown even if you only have one
  • Then repeat that step (yes, select it twice, no need to select anything else in between)

You can now use the prepare tab project filament drop downs to see the AMS slot entries from your selected printer.

Update

I watched the video, that is the behaviour I expected.

Your printer not being preselected is expected, not by you, by the software.

Try my work around and see if things improve.

I have five printers and spend my time double-tapping between them to setup my own projects.

I mean what you described is more or less what I am describing in my initial post, I can solve it like that, and its working yes. But I was wondering where this is coming from suddenly.

Bevore Update to latest Version it was just working.

I’d give it a chance to do a clean uninstall of the whole (revo) and check if its solving the issue.

I’ll update you guys.

thanks anyways for your time&help

It has been fixed and reappeared multiple times.

Good luck with the reinstall, I doubt it will fix it.

Adding a bug report of the git repo might have them fix something they have already been told about might be the straw that breaks the camels back so to speak.

Update: did not help at all…

I do enjoying being right, just not at the expense of others.

It is that annoying regression.

There was a whole release a while back where it was fixed in, good times.

super strange I never faced the issue, having the printer for a year now and updating to lastes version everytime… lets wait for the next one

Yep, same problem here. It started with the last Studio update. It is annoying, but i’ve been to lazy to try and roll back Studio to see if that fixes it.

Dear all

Just installed latest Version 2.3.1.51 and Problem is not fixed in my end.

I have the same problem. I use the latest version of Bambu Studio and have to go to Devices and connect my A1 every time before I can synchronise my AMS Lite. Mind you, I only have one A1 and haven’t set up any others in my profile.
