I’m looking for some help troubleshooting a few printing issues I started having with my A1. The printer is in a basement (not particularly humid or cold -50%-ish, 15°C-), on quite a solid surface, and I am using black bambu pla matte (dryed) on a supertak. I’d say that most of the issues started at the same time, but I couldn’t pinpoint them to a precise event (I changed lots of things, like the build plate, the nozzle, new firmwares, etc).
I am calling it “overextrusion” because it is all around the object (so it doesn’t seem to be a layer shift), and the inside of the object doesn’t have any issue (so it isn’t a layer with a bigger scale).
I had a look around, and besides the suggestion to clean the supertak (which I will do ASAP), didn’t find much about the overextrusion issue.
How are you drying your filament? Stringing is normally a sign of filament moisture.
The light around the bottom is often known as the “Benchy hull line”. It happens when the interior top layer shrinks which caused the subsequent layer to bulge around the model.
This roll in particular I dried with the AMS PRO 2, and I keep it inside the Ultimate AMS lite enclosure (Ultimate Filament Spool Enclosure - TYPE 01 - Free 3D Print Model - MakerWorld) with silica. And in any case in my region the relative humidity is < 50%, so ti’s not really like i live in a swamp (moreover I got this only with bambu pla matte, could it be a peculiarity of that filament?).
…and so what can be done to prevent this? Moreover, why with the same filament I have the issue on the A1 but not in the P1S?
The A1 has the part exposed and moving which cools it faster than in the P1S.
To mitigate the line often a radius is used on the inside corner as this will often allow infill to generate between the inter top layer and the other wall. This helps to isolate the shrinking issue.
A corner along the z axis (vertical) or on the XY plane? Anyway, as I don’t have access to the CAD files, is there any other way to mitigate that issue (like slower printer speed, or something related to layer time and/or fan speed)?
