Any idea how it goes back in it? As far as I can tell it was just in that slot, but it feels like it should probably be somewhere more tightened down in there …
Sounds like a replacement. Thermistors are very fragile and dont like being messed with
Replacement of the whole bed? If not, I am still not 100% sure how to make it back in properly.

Bambu doesnt sell the thermistor by itself.
Open a ticket and see if they will send you the part.
Actually, I had a whole tutorial posted here on how to resolve a detached heat bed thermistor as part of my temp deregulator review. I was too ham fisted when I installed the temp deregulator and tore out the thermistor. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the hardest, I’d say it was about an 8.5 if you have soldering skills and probably a 10 if you don’t.
At any rate, it looks like the post was deleted presumably by the forum admins - not the moderators - because I never got a message stating the post was removed. They just quietly deleted it.
I could repost the photos but I dare not since the original tutorial was banned, why would I risk incurring the wrath of the forum admins?

Alternatively, you could purchase the entire heat sensor board and replace the entire PCB. It isn’t that expensive.

This says it’s for the X1 but the link above for the replacement board leads you here. It apparently is the same part used for both the X1 and P1.
That’s a shame about your old post, that could have been helpful. I have a pretty nice soldering station, so that isn’t a problem for me, but I am curious what would need to be soldered. Aren’t the little beads at the end of a thermistor made of glass and they just get set up against the metal?
Also that board was exactly what I was replacing when I accidentally pulled the other end of the thermistor our from inside the bed.
Was this the one with the giant resistor?
