I need an option to change/swap a paint color on a single object without affecting other models color/paints in the same file.
The easiest solution I see if to add option to the existing paint bucket tool to paint “All of the same color” which would work similar to the existing option paint “Connected same color” but instead painting every place that color exists with the new color.
If there is a way to do this already, please tell me because this is frustrating me on a daily basis.

Assuming you have included the colors in the project filaments, there are several ways to change the color of a single object without painting.
Select the object, type the number of the new color.
Or, right-click the object, select Change filament, then select the new color.
Or, double-click the color in the Object list (sometimes this dropdown is reluctant to appear).
In this example, changing the sphere from color 1 to color 4 will make it blue without changing the red cube.

If you have multiple objects in your file, and you want to change a painted color, not the base color. Right now, you have to select the bucket tool, and paint each “connected color” section one by one. If the object is painted in detail, that could be many clicks just to change 1 color to a different one for the selected object only.
The option “all of same color” would change all painted sections of the same color when you click a painted color with the bucket tool.
Example, you have 2 multi-color cat models on your file, all painted with 4 color strips.
You cloned the model and you want to change Object 2’s colors.
Object 1: same, no change
White (base)
Black (painted)
Red (painted)
Orange (painted)
Object 2: change
White (base) → Grey [ this you can click the object to change ]
Black (painted) → Green
You can not change the Black filament color to Green as it will affect Object 1.
You have to use the paint bucket to paint each stripe 1 by 1.
