Adding Support w/o AMS

I assume you can add supports to a print manually? My AMS Lite is delayed again according to email I received yesterday. Will the A1 alert me to change filament when it needs the PETG interface and back to PLA?
Thanks

I do not think it will.

Do you need the PETG interface layer?

Most people live without true interface layers. I get the quality is a bit better, but, needs must.

Ha, my partner always says “needs must”
So just print all in PLA and just cut away the supports? I’m fairly new, about 6 weeks with the printer, so still learning.

Depending on your model using tree supports can be faster and easier to remove.

Traditional ones are great for regular shapes.

Consider restricting supports to the print bed if possible to limit surface artefacts.

Whilst I have every conceivable filament type including dedicated specialist support interface materials, I haven’t yet bothered as the quality I get is perfectly fine. This is true for my A1 mini, my A1 (recalled) and my mini print farm (personal use only) of P1S printers.

Thanks, I will give this a try this weekend!
