- Studio used with default settings from downloaded STL
- PLA filament used
- I have an issue with lack of adhesion to the plate especially with small supporting pads which break away mid print and then clog the nozzle.
I’ve only made a total of less than a dozen Bambu Studio prints so far and the plate has been studiously cleaned with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol after each print.
The plate has never been scraped and has only been slightly flexed to release prints.
Only PLA has been used so far however in some cases support pads fail to stick immediately losing their correct location and causing chaos.
The LCD seems to indicate it’s at the correct temperature.
If you have any ideas they would be much appreciated.
Try washing your build plate with dish soap instead of IPA
- Mainly use dish soap for cleaning.
- Alcohol is effective when used as a second step after dish soap, but take care to use only a small amount and avoid “soaking” the print plate in it. Otherwise, it will damage the surface over time. Not overnight, though. Also, make sure you use pure alcohol (Isopropyl alcohol) and not some strange mixture from the hardware store with additives. Make sure it has completely evaporated, too.
- Add brims, enlarge if necessary, from your support and also from your actual 3D object. These are two separate settings. You have to adjust both of them.
- Use an infill that doesn’t constantly hammer against your 3D object. You haven’t written what you’re using. Rectilinear is one of the worst, for example; use Gyroid instead.
In my experience, it also helps to reduce the first layer speed.

Vielleicht solltest du es mal mit 3D-Lack versuchen. Ich hatte in fast drei Jahren noch nie solche Probleme.
Thank you for that advice which seems very sound, I will give it a go, however I may need some further advice on how to adjust the settings. As I’m new to this environment I’m just using the Bambu Studio slicer at this stage and haven’t matured to any advanced stuff yet.
Oh that sounds like a very clever idea which perhaps I should apply to all my prints. How would I go about reducing the first layer speed ?

First: Activate advanced mode in Process Section
You go in the process / global section to speed and then you can reduce the speed of the initial layer. (initial layer speed). I choose at least 30 to 35 mm/s initial Layer and 60-70mm/s Initial layer infill (0.20mm Standard with original Plate).
