Any advice for getting sliding dovetail joints to not be too tight or too loose? I always seem to make them one way or the other, struggling to get them to be good for ease of use.
Sometimes one printer will print them perfect, then the next, well not so perfect, lol.
This might be a fools errand as the thermo properties might not allow a consistent enough print, but maybe there is something in the modeling that can help? How close do you make your tolerance from each of the components?
Here is a pic of my particular joint.
A 0.75 to 1.5 degree (depending on the size of the part) draft on the joint helps a lot. Looser at the beginning, tighter at the end.

I assume that is fusion. The draft feature is very easy to use.
You will most likely need to suppress your fillets or roll back the feature tree before using it.
Ok, I put a 1 degree draft on two of the faces so as to pinch the part as it slides further into the joint. We’ll see what that does, 1 degree looks a bit aggresive, but these are easy enough to print.
Make sure you have calibrated your filament for pressure advance and flow ratio. Check for dimensional accuracy. Calibration can vary by color for a specific brand and material when dealing with close tolerances.
