I am close to finishing a printed project that has a good amount of components, including BOM items such as bearings and various hardware. I’m wanting to release the project as a printable package, and hope to make it relatively easy for others to download and build.
There are multiple materials used (PLA, TPU, PETG), as well as both .2mm and .4mm nozzles required.
What advice would you have for organizing a projects build plates and assembly instructions?
I was thinking about creating a pdf for the instructions and print info, should I look into different options there?
I’d group things (that can be grouped) by filament type and nozzle size and be sure to set the build plate labels to indicate filament types and nozzles.
And be pedantic in the text about how different nozzles and filaments are needed.
But be prepared - complex prints don’t seem to get much traction here. Oddly enough, with these machines users seem to still like fidget spinners, coasters, and keychains best.
… or various miniatures, especially those with naked butts, long legs and exposed boobies… (hmm, the so called NSFW)… nothing really creative or useful.
You could always create separate print profiles for the different nozzles, but then a user will be required to download more than one profile to get the entire project.
The project tab gets filled out once you upload via Makerworld, then download the resultant print profile and the tab will be filled out with the submitted details much like the webpage is. It’s probably just XML so perhaps one could add it manually but that is beyond my expertise.
Ahh, thanks for that info- Ive never uploaded to makerworld. I referenced a few projects- and saw they had info and images, but couldn’t tell how to add them.
