After close to 11,000 hours on my P1S

So my og P1P to P1S has been running for what, 3+ years almost non-stop I’ve finally had a part give in that wasn’t my fault. X/Y stepper.

I was watching a print and it started the color change when suddenly the head couldn’t move left or right. Then it could, then finally it became stuck and wouldn’t move. A tear down of the probable suspects revealed a stepper that barely moves.

I’m not mad, it’s been a long run. Decided that if I’m changing that I’m changing all three, any wear items I have to take off will get replaced as well. This is why we will most likely add another P1S when we need more capacity.

That is impressive. I am curious what things need to be replaced over time. I am at ~2600 hrs on my P1S and have only replaced hot ends, wipers, carbon filters. I bought a spare Z belt and tensioner because it made some noise but that has stopped.

That’s about it. Normal wear and tear.

I know someone who has a P1S and does zero maintenance/cleaning and inside it looks like a poop bucket. Its like a clutch your pearls in shock its so abused. Thing runs non stop and hasn’t failed yet.

They do clean the plate though.

Have you cleaned all the rods and greased everything and tightened the Z belt? That usually fixes things for me

Tell me you didn’t read the post without telling me you didn’t read the post.

No. The only correct response to this situation is to start a very angry thread insisting that Bambu Lab is an awful bad very bad company that hates its customers and kicked your dog, and you’ll never buy another one, and then get all bent out of shape when people ask helpful, thoughtful and reasonable questions trying to help fix your problem.

C’mon. The Internet is where nuance and thoughtfulness go to die!

If my P1S makes it that long with only one repair, I’ll be thrilled. I can’t drive a car 10,000 hours without needing a few major repairs!

Wasn’t the only repair on it, but it was the only one I didn’t cause.
