A couple of entries, including my own, have an order of magnitude more likes/downloads/prints than the rest. But they literally are displaying at the bottom, after scrolling through the other ~200 entries.
Edit: To clarify, I waited until September 10 (UTC time) before I uploaded my entry, so it is a valid contest entry. I’m not sure if the same is true of the others, and I don’t want that to be a red herring. If you read on, you’ll see that the sort order is messed up in other ways too, beyond the contest.
Moreover, the illusion I posted last night hit the #5 spot on the main MakerWorld trending page (not the contest page) within hours, and it was quickly rising. I have screenshots. Then the outage hit. They must have restored from backup, because now it’s nowhere to be seen.
It seems like the sort order stats are all messed up in general. If I try to view the models with the most downloads over the past 24 hours, the first result has 180 downloads, the second result has 47 downloads, and yet my model (which has over 200 downloads in under a day) doesn’t show up at all.
This is the first thing I’ve ever done which has trended, so this situation is a real punch in the gut, especially since I’d been planning this contest entry for over a month. Is there anything I can do?
Yes, I can see the same thing with my entry in the Car model contest. Before the outage it was in the top ten but now it is at the bottom. Additionally it dissappeared from the CN site somehow also, even though that site was never down…
@B_Run_Swim I fixed some typos/touch up in the description of my model and I noticed it went back to the correct position on the trending list after that…
Same issue on my end, my hanger contest entry completely dropped off the page. Earlier today I tried updating and nothing changed, but after reading this I modified some text and now the entry is back up.
was having a heart attack earlier because mine had disappeared from the contest as well, it was well and truly up there in the Hangers contest and it still said on the model page it was the contest
fixed some typos and can confirm it’s back on the list. Thank you for this, i was stressing so much!
You can consider the issue resolved. If others users are looking for a solution, the workaround that @polymech3D identified is to simply edit the model description which happens to clear the issue for that model.
