The most annoying thing about my P2S are the AI detection “features”. I thought it would be a good idea to have something like that to prevent hours of printing failed parts – instead, I get false warnings nearly every print and have hours of wasted time because of unnecessary paused prints.
The “foreign object detection” is completely broken, I get warnings at least every 1-3 prints with a clean and clear build plate. I cannot even disable this feature and have to start nearly every print twice - which is annoying. Bambu say they will improve it, great.
Randomly, the nozzle clog protection stops my prints with false warnings. I could always resume the print with no problems at all. Great when it happens at night.
The purge chute jam detection simply doesn’t work; I’ve got a chute jam lately (filament waste failed to escape and build up until everything melted to one solid piece onto the nozzle) After starting a new print, the printhead couldn’t escape the purge aera, resulting in a nearly destroyed printer. Luckily, I could save it with the power button.
Spaghetti detection worked one time, but 30min into printing spaghetti after a completely detached print – also not a great performance.
I keep every detection setting to “low”, since I want to prevent false warnings. But tbh it’s better to disable it completely and hope for the best.
Hi very strange , I had the opposite , AI was not working efficently … Did you do a new full calibration ? ( all my problem was solved ) Also it will be good to do a specific Camera calibration ? Maybe the support told you to do all these ?
I heard nothing about a camera calibration. Do you have a link? Support didn’t really help, I provided camera pictures with object detection and clean print plate…
It is in the menu calibration on the printer , you have Live camera calibration , it will ask you to remove the PEI plate and will run some test with picture on the rubber bed
I’ve contacted bambu support again, this was the answer:
After carefully reviewing your case, we have determined that this is likely a firmware-related issue. Our development team is actively working on a fix, which will be included in the next firmware update. This update will also introduce an option to disable the foreign object detection feature.
In the meantime, we recommend the following temporary solution to help you resume printing without interruptions:
Open Bambu Studio and go to Printer Settings.
Navigate to Machine G-code and locate the Machine Start G-code section.
Find the line containing M972 S26 P0 C0 and delete it.
Save the preset, and ensure you select this preset before starting any new prints.
This adjustment will disable the foreign object detection function temporarily and should resolve the issue until the updated firmware is released.
I have the same problem on a P2S. Blob detection triggers all the time. I’ve yet to ever see a blob or anything that could be somewhat interpreted as a possible blob. Always a ???… resume situation.
Blob detection didn’t trigger a while here - but foreign object detection still stops my print every 2-3 prints. Hope the next update will finally fix this.
One thin print that fell off a support and lead to spaghetti triggered nothing. The print went for another hour, wasting filament.
Another print that was going perfectly was randomly paused because the printer “detected” stringing. There was none. The half-finished print sat for hours.
