That is a feature of the latest firmware.
Same here… I started off after the first two false positives just setting AI to low… Now after getting false positives every print, at least once I’ve just had to turn it completely off. All most all of the error were clumping, but I think there was one other one.
On low, I almost never got errors on my X1C, of course I know the new nozzle cam and software is likely the root cause of these on the H2D.
I’m sure Bambu is on it, but an update can’t come fast enough.
I’ll add a +1 here… For me it only happened with Bambu PETG Basic Black, but about 8 or 9 times during my last 8 hour print (ended up being ~18h because of this).
With my PLA white prints I haven’t seen it so far.
I’ve been having a quite good experience, the times it alerted me it was spot on.
My experience was somewhat similar… when I first started with my printer, I didn’t get any for several prints. Then I upgraded the firmware to the latest production release. Now I get with them Bambu PLA occasionally. When I do, there is no issue with the hotend tip or filament, so I just press continue and print completes successfully without any issues. I’ve left my setting to default because I think it is a bug and hopefully will be corrected in next firmware release.
I’ve only gotten false positives for the clumping detection—the few times the print detached and there was clumping/spaghetti the AI did not detect it.
Same - I have been getting false positives for the following message:
Al detected nozzle clumping. Please check the nozzle condition. Refer to assistant for solutions.
I have been printing with Black ABS filament made by Bambu Lab. Never had any issues with my X1C, but has happened 4-5 times on a 12hr print with my H2D. Hopefully it’s a firmware issue that will get addressed.
I lost 3 19+ hour ASA-CF prints because of the false alerts. By the time I restarted the first print, there was a pretty big layer line from cooling. The next time it keep re-throwing the error and failed to restart the print. The worst part was it would get 70% or more through the job and then throw the error.
I found this thread, along with others, and disabled the AI failure detection and one of my prints just completed without issue after running since last night.
If there isn’t a solution in the current beta release can you please add a new option to notify the user instead of pausing the print when it detects an issue? Then we can still use the feature but not have it ruin prints when it produces a false positive.
I have had a false positive nozzle clumping issue on EVERY SINGLE print so far. The latest error occurred when the print had completed one single outer wall.
I turned the sensitivity to low last night, but it continues to trigger false positives this morning as well.
This has been an absolute nightmare. i’ve tried several different brands of the same color on the external spool and keep getting false positives randomly. It’ll print fine for 5, 10 ,15, 20 mins then shoot this error. I printed something in from the AMS yesterday and didn’t have a single issue. I’ve resorted to just turning AI off completely.
How are you guys turning the AI detection off? I can only find how to change the sensitivity. I want to turn it off completely until this issue is resolved
I have not tried this yet - but I have read that the Beta Firmware is supporting turning off some of the AI features.
In studio: device tab, print options (top right), uncheck “Enable AI monitoring of printing”. Not the dropdown that sets sensitivity, the checkbox next to it.
After getting multiple false clumping stops a few times on my last print, I noticed a fuzzy hair looking buildup one the side of one of the heat socks… Cleaned it and no further issues finishing the print, I wonder if the camera is seeing that hair and stopping the print in some cases.
I’ve had a similar issue multiple times… so now when I get the alert, I clean all around the extruder & hotends.
Maybe I’m lucky but mine has been great. No false detections and it did detect two issues that would have wasted massive amounts of filament. Factory settings on medium.
I was having this problem once I added a USB Samsung Fit Plus 128GB USB for storage. The issue seems to have gone away after removing the USB drive
Had three of these over and over tonight with an ABS print. So frustrating. First of all, STOP WITH THE AI ■■■■. It’s getting so old. If this is what AI has to offer, Judgement Day will be a piece of cake against those robots.
If it was truly AI, it could learn and tell me the difference between each event and then “we” could learn and teach to ignore certain things. This is just a cheap gimmick to sell machines at this point.
I got this super tiny 128GB (200mbs DL and 30MB Upload verrified) card from PNY on amazon like $15 and the AI is doing great on my H2d. So far zero issues with the AI and its stopped 2 real issues so far. I like this card as it just sticks up a very small amount on top.
Same here, with my H2D and Bambu ABS White, frustrating.
