Air Quality Monitor for around $50

The AirGradient One looks good. I hadn’t planned on spending that much but I’m starting to lean that way now.

Look for an SDS011 which is currently around $24 shipped on eBay, give or take. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=sds011&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_sop=15&rt=nc&_udlo=19&_udhi=30&_blrs=spell_auto_correct Try to find one that includes the serial converter and cables at that price. Plug it in to a Pi and you’re done. Very reliable hardware. The software is easy enough to find or write yourself. e.g. https://gist.github.com/kadamski/92653913a53baf9dd1a8 Cases at https://www.printables.com/search/models?q=SDS011

It’s not a $50 solution, but the value you get for what it costs looks great. This one’s been on my to-print list for a while. I haven’t tested it yet, but if it delivers as designed, it could be a very good solution.

Only 5 minutes? For real? Only 5 minutes to assemble your very first one (not, say, the 20th one, where you’d be leveraging the learning curve of prior assemblies)? Heck, if that’s the case, I might even buy one myself.

Haha nope, very first one. There’s nothing to solder, just have to plug in 3 sensors to the PCB board and that’s it.
