I don’t think I’m the only one who wants to use both:
the TPU feeder and
the filament switch.
The various community-designed mounting solutions for these tools typically place the switch on the left side and the feeder on the right side (when viewed from the rear). However, this arrangement makes it impossible for me to feed TPU from an AMS HT unit, as the AMS is positioned on the left side, while the access point for the feeder is on the right.
It would be great if Bambu Lab could develop a design where these tools are arranged in a way that meets the necessary specifications, yet allows for the filament to be fed from the right side (the feeder side) via AMS HT.
I am not sure if any of the currently published third-party mods would work for this purpose.

My actual build doesn’t look perfect to me.

Your proposal is not possible.

The TPU feeder is tor filaments that are too flexible to feed with an AMS.

So what goes into an AMS doesn’t need a TPU feeder, and what needs a TPU feeder, cant go in the AMS.

So what are you trying to achieve?

Based on your read and after reviewing the initial post, I agree with your interpretation.

OP, the intent of the TPU assist module is to act as a “helper” so the extruder doesn’t have to do all the pulling itself, it’s advantage is being as close to the extruder as possible, if you’re thinking of feeding into the FTS you’re kinda defeating the purpose of the system.

As you see in the picture I use the AMS HT with the side feed to dry the TPU during printing. It works perfect! Other Maker use this configuration on top without feeder: AMS HT, side feed direct to printer head from the top.

So what goes into an AMS doesn’t need a TPU feeder, and what needs a TPU feeder, cant go in the AMS.

Not true: I’m using TPU 90A / 85A and it works perfect with my Configuration (just drying). Try it via AMS …….

Sure, but that AMS HT can’t feed the TPU automatically into the TPU feeder, and neither into theFTS.

I use it in your same configuration with a TPU feeder. Still have no clue what you intend to do with the FTS. The FTS is intended to connect 2 nozzles to one AMS.

And if you look at the interior of the FTS, you see it’s not suited for TPU.

Now you understand my TPU config, great.
The switch ist used like your explanation and is a complete other tool.

But both have to be configurated correctly side by side of each other (correct PTFE length and so on)
The question was, if it is possible that Bambu can provide a config with both tools that
meets all requirements and perhaps future add ons. Not more. Every time i use new configurations.

Do you mean that the location of the 2 tools need to be modified so they better oriented relative to the inputs, or do you want them to work simultaneously?

The TPU feeder only feeds into the right nozzle, the switch can feed into both.

So the switch can feed both nozzles, but can only feed the right nozzle if the TPU feeder is not active.

So I now think that you want the printer to control the TPU feeder and allowing it to retract the TPU on demand, so the switch can feed into the right nozzle?

That might be a consideration, but I think the TPU feeder misses the sensors to detect if the TPU is fully retracted.

The first: same input side,

nothing else, I want to use both tools separate, want to mount them standard on the backside.

My version on the first picture works that way, but the switch is mounted upside down, the feeder couldn’t be handled perfect and a belt revision hole is blocked. So my hope is, that bambu can create a better version to use.

I have an almost-solution for you, but it won’t be automatic for the reasons Gerrit outlined above.

So you’re essentially doubling your inputs at the back of the machine, and creating a switch to allow the output from the TAM to go to either nozzle.

That’s how I’m going to be configuring my machine’s TAM.

Sorry, but the Filament Track Switcher automatically do that. It works perfect.

Just asking for an alternative design to mount all together.

Is it so hard to understand? I never talked about a tool need.

I use this mount right now, because all needs for both tools are supported and the input is on the same side.

When there is no better design or Bambu wouldn’t support that need, fine. Just want to now.

Yes, given your initial post, it actually is so hard to understand, if all you truly were asking for was a different physical mount. You spent paragraphs and multiple replies saying none of that.
