I’m having issues feeding filament from only ONE of my feeder motor assemblies (slot 3). It can get the filament all the way to the tool head but stalls once it seems it’s all the way there. It only happens on this slot and it’s not the spool as I’ve tried different spools in all slots and the ones that failed in slot 3 work in other slots.
The metal gear that clamps the filament was gunked up with filament from when it randomly shredded a previous filament but I took the whole thing apart and cleaned it as best I could (did seem mostly gone) but that didn’t help the next run. Now I have the stall issues, it seems to have shredded more filament and is gunked up again.
The stall happens maybe 4 out of 5 times before eventually managing to feed.
My guess is replacing that feed assembly but I’m unsure of the real issue here. Can’t be PTFE tubes as far as I can tell as it makes it all the way to tool head, also can’t be broken filament in hot end as other slots are fine. Really stumped with this one. Any suggestions from the community?
