Did a firmware update on the H2D or AMS 2 Pro change the default temperatures and times for drying? Mine now shows 45C and 12 hours for PLA, I think it used to default to 55C and 8 hours which is what Bambu recommends for drying PLA.
I thought the AMS 2 Pro was supposed to read the RFID on the spool and base drying times on that? With a Bambu spools installed, it isn’t selecting the correct material and temp/time.
For PLA basic, the oven recommendation is 50C for 8 hours. The AMS 2 Pro and HT recommendation is 55C for 8 hours.
50C vs 55C for 8 hours is hardly a significant difference. I was just curious if there was reason for the AMS 2 default PLA change to 45C for 12 hours.
They changed it after people complained they couldn’t start drying when they still had some PLA spools loaded into the feeder slots (would become too soft at 55°C).
I wish it were a toggle, or that the software was smart enough to switch between 55°C and 45°C.
Well 45c was the temperature that the ams 2 was allowed to run with the filament in the feeder units. If you put more than 45c you had to remove the filament from the feeder units. Now I don’t know what it is. The notes on the beta sounded like we could now dry filament over 45c without removing the filament but I haven’t tested it.
