AMS Auto-Refill Requires Empty Spool to be Reloaded

I’ve got a question about AMS’ auto-refill feature on my P1S. I’ve had this happen twice now.

I’ve printed with Slots 1 and 2 being Bambu PLA refills with the RFID tags. Slot 3 is Support for PLA/PETG.

When Slot 1 runs out, it will switch to Slot 2. However, after the next Support run, it tries to use Slot 1 again, because of that, it will complain about Slot 1 being empty. If I move to Slot 2 to Slot 1, it will use Slot 1, but after the next support run, it will try to use Slot 2. It’s trying to alternate between 1 and 2 after each support run. I have to refill the empty slot before it continues uninterrupted.

Is there a way to make it just switch to 2 after 1 runs out?

Firmware is up to date, AMS auto-refill is enabled, color and types are the same. Not sure if the pic is related. This dialog is pretty un-intuitive. When you first open the dialog box, there is no grey arc on the top half or lower half. However, when you click on the top or lower half, the grey arc goes to whichever side you pick. I have no idea what this arc does.

For anyone finding this, I just got a refill to happen, and it appears to be related to that dialog box.

I think that box asks which spool should be used for backup. I definitely clicked on A2, the full one this time. In the Prepare tab, I set the color of the model to A1. So, it kicked over to A2 when it was out.

The first two times, I must have clicked on A1 either on accident or thinking it’s to tell Studio which spool to use first. It runs out, and then repeatedly tries to use A1 because that’s the designated backup. Why it switches back and forth afterwards, I have no idea.

It doesn’t help things that this dialog is not at all intuitive and the grey arc to indicate selection is barely visible over the lighter grey default arc. And when you first open the box, there isn’t even a thicker arc pre-selected. Bambu should do a better job explaining this dialog.
