AMS HT Auto Sync Function

I’ve recently bought an AMS HT for my P1S and I have a couple of questions.

The BL website advertises the HT has a “auto sync” function that uses the RFID chip to achieve “no manual input”.

Having now dried 3 spools, I’ve noted that there seems to be no such feature. My P1S and the HT seem to be at the latest software. So does my BL studios and handy app. The functioning of the HT seems very much a manual input control, no different to my filament dryer that cost half the price.

Having thoroughly read the manual (which only seems to cover the H2D and X1 series), there’s no mention of this auto sync function.

So my questions.

Is the AMS HT supposed to automatically decide the drying setting? And if so, how do we set it up?

Ive noticed the same thing on my ams ht. It only seems to read if you run it into the unit, not sitting static in the unit. It didnt recognize any spool i put into it. It wiuld have been nice to see it auto rotate with tpu drying

This only works at the moment if the filament is loaded when you initiate the drying sequence. If you just place the spool in there you have to manually set the type and temperature.

This could probably be done if they, when you initiate a drying cycle would turn the spool a couple of rounds to detect the RFID. As it is now this only works if your AMS HT knows the loaded filament before you initiate the drying sequence.

This isn’t true, it doesn’t work. I’m on latest firmware for both my P1S and my AMS HT, and with a spool loaded and recognized, I still have to manually select a drying profile when initiating drying. I feel like the feature description for this product is a lie.

Same here, newest firmware and I have to manually enter TPU. Also, the newest firmware on my P1S will not allow drying my TPU while loaded anymore. Before the last upgrade I could dry it while loaded. This is TPU for ams btw.

For P1S I can’t really say but it does work as I said for both my X1 Carbon and H2D, if filament is loaded it will suggest filament, temperature and drying time automatically.
