AMS HT no longer reporting Temp and Humidity after firmware update?

Topic says it all really. any way to turn it back on?

Lol they’re making my AMS HT rant post even more solid

haha yeah. i suspect, or at least hope, it’s a bug. show’s up fine in beta .68 but not in release .85

The overall quality of the software and of the releases is becoming embarrassing. They should invest more resources in software development (slicer–firmware); I don’t believe they’re lacking the budget…

pretty sure they’re. selling 3d printers isn’t as profitable as many think.

Out there it’s full of companies investing to get into the sector — they probably all got their business plan wrong. :joy:

It’s quite different though. Bambu is solely relying on selling printers (and filaments), while others are actually having other incomes. I heard that they had some difficulties before the launch of H2D. Don’t cue me on that though ;p

I’m not making fun of you, but it’s not like other companies are also producing TVs and washing machines. Elegoo makes printers, Anycubic too, same for Prusa, Creality, etc… with the small difference that those companies don’t have DJI backing them. And I’ll stop there…

The AMS HT temp/humidity reporting still works fine in the “Handy” app.

So, nothing’s broken, just lack of attention to detail by the “Studio” team…

working as intended then i guess. they could have at least given us a letter rating h/n/u/o/x seem unused. h could mean it’s humid but hot, n could mean not either, u for using dry mode needed, o obviously neither wet nor dry and x if you want to send a tweet

I’ll take Bambu Labs over Elegoo, Creality, and FLSun any day… Making assumptions about business model or planning from the outside looking in is ridiculous… The only company that comes close is Prusa and they are more interested in their tinker niche market than expanding to regular consumers.

You think the software and firmware is bad on Bambu??? Let me point you to FLSun, Anycubic, and Qidi Tech… Their stuff is laughably worse, at least Bambu puts in the effort to innovate and we get regular firmware updates.

Grass is always greener syndrome around here sometimes…

Check your “Handy” app. You’ll see that the HT temp. and humidity (RH) is there. The temp. and RH are also there and in the Bambu Studio for the AMS 2, also.

Thanks for taking the time to reinforce that and yep it also reports correctly in beta studio 2.2.0.68. it’s not like it’s a huge deal, but seems like another one of those minor things that are piling up. hope bambu do something about it somewhat promptly

You clearly have no idea how any of these companies you mentioned works. Also Bambu is not invested or backed by DJI. Bambu is mainly backed by venture funds and though it appears to be a Chinese company, most of its investment actually came from the US.

And Creality, Elegoo are not what they looked like either. Financially they are quite well backed, either from government or sibling / parent companies, and they don’t need to build the entire software system and online system.

You’re contradicting yourself. First you say selling printers isn’t that profitable, so why would the Chinese government support these companies? Who backs Bambu, and for what reason?

Also, it’s not possible that a company like “BambuLab” could come out of nowhere and suddenly produce 25,000 printers a month, selling over 1 million in the first year, without being backed by some giant with strong enough shoulders to sustain the investment and already having the technology to do it.

The only thing they couldn’t hide from the public are the engineers working at Bambu, so they had to label them as “former DJI employees.” But everything else is DJI: plastics, electronics, domain provider, server locations, etc. You just need to put two and two together instead of believing Wikipedia.

You really lack the basic understanding of how China works ;p

In short, not everything in China is for profit, especially for gov led projects.

I won’t touch too much here as it’s not a place for politics. All I want to say is that some investments don’t really work in western ways. Creality was heavily gov related and they have an extra low income tax benefit as well.

Bambu really has almost nothing to do with DJI at least financially. Yes they do have lots of engineers from DJI. But that doesn’t mean that they’re DJI. And they’re going to be direct competitors very soon I can tell you about that.

So… How widespread is this issue for H2D x AMS HT x newest firmware & studio x Linux/Windows/Macs???

I’m still on the previous versions of studio and firmware for all those hiccups I’ve been hearing here, sigh.

100% across my sample size of 2, myself and my friend, AU based if that makes a difference.

github issue, it’s reported as a bug: with release 2.2.0.85, there is no readout of humidity for the AMS-HT · Issue #7931 · bambulab/BambuStudio · GitHub

i moved my HT to my P1S this morning and it reads humidity/temp fine

ill save the rant about the fact that the HT dried a PETG spool for 12 hours, have an in spool container of desiccant and a dried bag in it’s desiccant slot and is at 23% RH :upside_down_face:

Yeah I’m also in AU lol.
But the HT sucks in almost any way, if I knew what I learnt I wouldn’t be buying it.

lol yep, same boat for me
