It is very annoying if you are going to need to change back and forth between normal filaments and TPUs. But it you leave it alone, its not too bad, because it is a one and done thing.
If you mean actually manual filament loading, it is a little more tedious but not enough to complain about. I can push TPU through from the box all the way to the head where it loads up. 85A and 90A might be more problematic (definitely 85A, because it has a different method), but ultimately, the actual manual load isn’t the biggest problem.
Personally, I feel like people will slowly stop doing the switch around and just leave it one way, and just not use the other type. IMO, not an ideal way to handle things, but it is what it is. To fix it, it would require a significant rethink, and likely a significant amount of new hardware. Some have already made y-splitters that allow both the TPU port and the buffer to be connected at the same time as well as other options that only require you to release the toolhead connection to set it one way or the other.
