For information, you can use the old AMS buffer from a P1S or X1C on the A1, just tested it on 01.07 and connected a AMS HT with P1S buffer to A1 Mini, not sure about the old 4 port hub, not got one to try

Sorry but I can’t understand what HUB you’re reffering…can you post a link? In any case how do you manage the 4-pinned A1 connector with the 6-pinned AMS??
This buffer, it already does 4pin to 6 pin conversion

Uh ok got it thanks…and you’re 100% sure it works with the A1 Mini? I’m asking because tomorrow I’ll order an AMS2 pro but the proper hub is not available and the customer service doesn’t know when it will be…in any case what are the differencies between this HUB and the “official” A1 Hub, then?
I’ll try an AMS 2 in a bit, but the main difference is that the old Buffer only has 1 input, the new A1 Hub has 4 inputs, I guess this would be the equivalent, but costs a lot more
Uh ok, so, in theory, if I’m not interested on having more than an AMS 2 Pro it’s irrelevant to use this one or the official one, right?
As far as I can see, yes, there are even mounts designed already, I will now not bother with the new one, only want to use my AMS HT on the A1 Mini, also the drying function worked, I like the HT because it has a mains input built in.

Just connected to AMS 2 and it worked fine, guess you would need external power supply for drying

From what I understand, yes you could probably use the old Filament Buffer with the A1 Mini. But it cost 28 euros, meanwhile the official AMS A1 Hub only costs 23 AND will work with up to 4 AMSes. (I can’t insert links so search for " AMS Hub - A1 Series" in your bambustore).
The only problem it’s that it is out of stock for now. But they should have it back in stock by november the 3rd.
Now later in the thread you ask if the buffer is needed at all. And yes it’s not optional. The AMS Lite worked with the filament being pulled by the extruder. The AMS 1 and 2 Pro have a motor that push the filament. Without a buffer, you might over push or have problem when the AMS will pull out the filament.
It will work more or less, but it will cause print failures and might even damage the extruder or break the filament inside the tubes.

Thanks a lot! I ordered the AMS2 Pro yesterday so I had to buy the old filament buffer. I didn’t want to wait until Nov. 3rd because I was “afraid” that also the AMS2 could go out of stock. Other than that I didn’t want to buy the AMS yesterday and the newest buffer next Monday having so to pay the shipment costs twice. As I said I’m not interested at all connecting more than a single AMS so the old buffer is more than enough for me

I have done 6 prints so far using the AMS buffer from my P1P/S with no failures using an AMS HT
But will replace with the new one once it arrives

I have the original AMS hub that was on my x1c. I replaced it with the 4 port hub when I got the second AMS. I want to use the original one port hub on the A1 mini to connect to an original AMS. I’ve searched and can’t find the details on it. Must not be using the correct search terms. Does anyone have a link on how to do that?
The A1 buffer hub was just in stock. But I was too slow picking some filament to go with it, and now it’s out of stock in the UK. at 17:30
