Hi all, I’ve been having intermittent trouble with loading in filament (at the start of a print) for a couple of months now. The AMS will load in the filament then the printer decides something’s wrong and spits it back out again (and then tries to reload it). It will do this twice (I think) and sometimes it’s enough for it to accept it and start the print, other times I have to keep pressure on the filament with my hand to make the printer start extruding it.
I initially thought this was an issue with my extruder because I’d taken it apart so many times to fix blockages, I thought maybe the tolerances were out. So I bought a new one a few weeks back, and a complete new nozzle assembly - yet the issue is still present.
I thought maybe my AMS was getting tired, because I’ve had it for 2 years now, so I tried my new AMS last week and the issue is still happening with that.
Also sometimes it will fail to unload the filament at the end of a print and will be stuck on 99% completion. This is usually solved by leaving the printer for a while then hitting “It’s fixed, continue” and it’ll successfully retry.
This is a really frustrating problem, especially when doing multicolour prints where I basically have to baby the printer and can’t leave the house while it’s doing something.
