In case no one has figured this out, Orca Slicer breaks the communication between the AMS and the X1. I’ve had the same behavior on the A1. My best guess this has something to do with Orca’s handling of the Bambu network plugin, but not sure. It doesn’t just break what shows in the slicer; they all go to question marks on the printer itself.
The only solution I’ve found is either restarting the printer or reseating the filament.
Side note - it (Orca) doesn’t find profiles for wood filament at all. In order to use the calibration tools I had to manually create a preset. Even saving the Bambu Wood preset doesn’t work; it won’t show up in Orca.
