AMS Riser Options

I guess I need to look at the sides as the bottoms on mine are both smooth with no strengthening ribs like the images on the printable site. That’s odd, mine have the 4 slots now that I know what he was talking about. So it’s a V3 for me.

Here’s the difference in the side panels of the AMS, mine are like the bottom, with fewer and bigger slots. Both mine are from 2024.

The upper is apparently a V1, the lower could be V2 or V3, found this picture on Reddit below

Guess I’ll measure mine tonight.

Thanks for the confirmation. Mine are the same as yours. If you look at the images and scroll over the guy that designed this 2 AMS holder print shows the 4 different possibilities and it looks like ours is a V3. Check it out and see if you think that is correct.

Edit: I measured mine and the 3 equally spaced sections are about 3 inches or likely 76.2mm but now none of these choices look correct for our AMS units.

I did some reading on that site and the 5th comment down mentions we must have a Version 6 according to the measurements he provided. Maybe the designer will make another version for us or I will have to look for a remix or learn how to do a remix. :upside_down_face:
Found a remix. All is good now. Well, he only remixed the bottom half as he had a V2 for the top. It’s always something. :upside_down_face: I found a remix of the top for a V6

I got some wisedry satchel’s which do include microwave instructions. Turns out it works very well in the microwave as well. Just need to avoid overcooking them. If you do, it sounds like popcorn :joy:

As long as there’s nothing going wrong with the printer, you are in for a really nice experience.

Jebus! With all those choices, I’m surprised I printed a riser that fit the first time🤣.

I’m leaving the one AMS on the riser, putting the second one to the side of the P1S. Think I’ll print me a little shelf riser for it, something to work on, nothing that requires me to determine slot sizes.

Turns out my two AMS units have different spacing.

Unit A, from my combo purchase in July (thought it was August, but just checked)

The side rib spacing is an even 2 7/8"

Unit B, arrived yesterday

The side rib spacing isn’t equal. The front spacing and back spacing are both 2 5/8", the center spacing is 3 3/8".

Neither unit has ribs where desiccant pods are inserted.

Yeah, one comment mentioned the amazing amount of choices too. I am sure I can remix the top piece for the 2 V6 units I have, in case the guy that did it didn’t do a good job as the one and only comment implied.
Thanks for reporting back your specs.

I decided to go with these AMS Savers as they have good reviews and don’t need any 2 sided tape. Also the other ones with the longer PTFE tube with the little plastic end piece have a lot of pictures with fails. I am printing 8 of them in PETG as I write this.

Let us know how they perform. They will certainly help with knob wear but I would be interested to learn if they also help regarding spool entanglement. The longer ones helped in my case by keeping the filament within the spool rim during filament withdrawal while also giving a little extra “pull out” for lightly jammed spooling.

If you’re going to use protectors Eds are the way to go. Print in PETG.

Ok, will do. I have seen pics where the extended versions get ripped off toward the end of a spool. But I am open to do more research. I also see they make some for the Mini AMS units like I have with my A1 Minis or A1’s. Doing more research.

Yes the eds versions looked good and so were the reviews. I printed them in PETG and I have the V4.1 BL as my funnels are 14.5mm. Looking for the best ones for the AMS Lite too.
