I bought a new ams 2 pro last week. loading a new filament loaded with no issues. ran “ams setup” and slot 1 couldn’t feed filament in, it would keep making this jamming sound.
i added another filament to slot 1
filament loaded with no issues
now i start a print job - slot 1 starts to jam as it feeds into the ams PTFE tubs
i noticed it left “teeth marks” on the filament
i cut the filament or slighly push the filament into the feeder
ams loads filament into hotends
ams switches to slot 2 for color change, then back to slot 1
ams slot 1 jams again and I can see filament has “teeth marks” again too
i have to keep rinse and repeat cutting the filament or pushing the filament in because of the teeth marks forming
there are instances where the filament in slot 1 will load sucessfully - leads me to believe nothing is stuck inside the PTFE tubes. now i have to babysit my 1 day print job when does jam.
Have you tried removing and reinserting the PTFE tubes for slot 1? If the PTFE tube is not cut precisely and fully inserted, it’s possible the filament is getting stuck before entering the PTFE tube, if there’s a gap, especially if you’re cutting the filament straight and not diagonally. I’ll link the tutorial to do this, it looks a lot harder than it is, took me about 30 minutes the first time I did this from start to finish.
Could also be a weak motor, but I have a feeling it’s not, since is adding gear tooth marks on the filament.
Thanks for the suggestion. i had cut it diagonally on my few tries when it’s jam and it does go feed in. It would jam again as it cycles to use that slot again.
Thank you for sharing this video. To me, it seems like the physical spool is the issue. Try giving it a light boost with your hands when the machine is trying to spin it. If that does not work, we will work to find other solutions.

they suggested to press the button inside the AMS during the jam. once i pressed it, the filament loaded into the hotends (i was surprised!). this new print job that I started today never had a jam after the button was pressed.
i did about 2 more print jobs with no jams. then the next print job started a jam again on the same slot 1, pressed that button again and it clear it once more for the whole print job.
that would mean that “hub” where the button is would need a replacement possibly?
Just an update: Bambu Lab will be sending me a replacement internal hub for AMS. hopefully this wont happen again with the replacement. thanks all for your feedbacks.
