AMS slot selection with same color in two slots

I have 4 AMS units on my X1C. When a roll gets low, I’ll load a new roll in another slot for the Auto Refill feature. For discussion purposes, let’s say I have BL black PLA in slot A2 and B4 with the full roll in B4. While in Prepare mode I’ll select Black in slot A2. After slicing when I select to send it to the printer, it will change to slot B4 which has the full roll. I have to manually change it to A2.

BTW, both rolls are using Bamboo Labs spools with the RFID and the Auto Switch function works.

Why is it doing this and is there a way to correct it? Not a big deal as long as I notice it changed and change it.

The selections on the prepare tab only sets filament color and material, even after syncing with the AMS units. The sync is just a quick way to set the available colors and types in prepare to what you have physically loaded. When you choose A2 you’re saying use filament 2 which is black PLA. When you start the print, the colors are mapped to the closest filament.

Why B4 is chosen over A2, I can’t say. Order loaded or last used? I used to assign a different color if I wanted keep one from being picked over the other (e.g. cheap black PLA for prototyping over a more expensive black PLA). Now that I’m used to how this works I just make sure to check being hitting print.
