For those that already have a H2C - I currently have an X1C with two AMS1 units and a HT and am planning on ordering the H2C, but my question is, if I relocate one of the AMS1 units to the H2C for the Vortek, how bad of an experience will I see? Time for printing is not a big issue for me, so if that is the only issue, it will be fine.
The new one is a little faster, as you noted, otherwise, v1 cant dry. I run a couple v1 mixxed in with v2 and never notice. Obviously dont try to buy a v1, but if you already have one, use it.
I run v1 amd v2 ams units. The generations 2 unit accumulates humidity slower. For mid term filament storage i prefer ams 2. The AMS HT doesnt seem to insulate against humidity at all.
Thought that too, ran a drying cycle in the HT and with 6 hours to go it was at 17%, woke up this morning, it would have sat there after the cycle completion for a couple of hours and it is now at 23%.
I am interested in this as well. I have 4 AMS1 attached to my P2S. I would like to upgrade to a second H2C, but I don’t want to replace all those AMS units.
You don’t need to replace them, but you will get an extra one with the H2C.
I have been running my AMS1 and AMS2 (that came with the H2C) on the right nozzle and my AMS HT on the left since I got my H2C last year. The AMS1 I have the shortest PTFE run possible and I do not notice, or care about, any major time delay issues. I don’t use mine to run a business, so the extra time it takes to load from the AMS1 for me is negligible.
I have ordered the filament switch, which will allow the two AMS units to run from either nozzle.

You will notice one slightly non optimized behavior with the AMS1 and the filament switch although most of the time it’s not a big deal. As it stands (will there be a firmware update for the AMS1?), the AMS1 retracts all the way to the AMS while the AMS2 only retracts to the switch at filament change if you use 2 different switch inputs for the AMSs in your print
