Hey! I’ve been using Cura for years, so when I switched to the P1S, the software was very intuitive to understand. However, I have one question:
I use just one type of filament and have created a profile for it. But when I download a trinket to print from Makerworld, the projects often come with a bunch of materials listed in the “Filament” section, even if it’s a single-color, single-material print. Why does this happen? Is it related to the AMS (I don’t have one)?
That’s actually vestigial code left over from Cura that allows for use of multiple colors if supported by the printer. If one creates a profile(AMS or not) with multiple colors, it will simply store them without prejudice. Then when someone else downloads it, the colors are ignored if they do not have an AMS.
I’m no expert but I think that you are seeing how the model originator uploaded it to Maker World. I randomly get profiles that I have just assumed are uploaded with that machines profile, not yours.
Especially noticeable when 3 AMS’s (I have 2) with colors I don’t even have.
