The link title says TR8x2 but there is 8x8 to choose from on the actual page

Also - I bought some Gizmodorks POM to experiment with. I have not touched it yet, but my printer is approaching the magical 1000 hrs and I would rather have a set of nuts ready to go, just in case.

Is there any point in trying to print them out of POM, or is it futile to even try ?

Those look fine, my link has a dimension drawing. I believe any TR8x8 should work. I was not able to print POM.

I will release tools to make this adapter from aluminum at some point in time.

In the meantime while you wait for the POM nut and use @MiamiJerry adapter, you can use my repair kit temporarily to get you up and running in less than 15 minutes.

These people did just not greased their printers or they installed hardware upgrades without proper knowledge and they are the 0.01% over all

Shortly after writing that, I bought an H2C, which has been problem-free. The problems others reported could be anything from BL receiving defective lead screws and/or nuts to the sort of upgrade or maintenance issues you mentioned. I hope that the problems are largely in the rear view mirror, but time will tell.

From looking at the OEM part I would say that there simply isn’t enough thread length in that brass (or is it bronze) nut.

What I can’t tell is how well machined and the surface finish of the lead screw is.

I’ve already bought POM nuts and will machine my own mating parts if I ever need them.

I believe this leadscrew nut problem is on Bambu, not the owner. Seriously the nut are very very thin, the grease changes color to black very quickly. How is this on the owners.

I will release the tools I have to make an aluminum TR8x8 adapter. Although, a 3d printed adapter should be fine, I do like a metal adapter.

You are the expert on these, so I hesitate to ask, but when you say the grease changes color very quickly any chance you are using an extreme pressure grease?

The silicone grease that is recommended, almost clear. Super Lube 92003

For some perspective: I own an A1, A1 Mini, X1C and H2D.

I ordered the H2D as soon as it became available, so mine is an early production unit.

All of my other Bambu printers have considerably more print hours, some more than twice as many. None of them have any hardware modifications, and all maintenance has been done using Bambu Lab’s recommended grease and oil.

The H2D is the only one that has needed its lead screws replaced.

Remember this is a big printer. Bigger bed, bigger prints. Lots more weight to lift than a typical printer. Likely that people buying the H2D are doing so to print large, heavy models. Doing lots of Z hops on a large heavy model is going to wreak havoc on those tiny nuts.

I think you’re not entirely right! People buy the H2D primarily for its dual extruders, not for the bed size. And people rarely print large, heavy models on it. For instance, in the ten months I’ve owned the H2C, I’ve only printed a large model that filled the entire bed once; 99% of my prints would have easily fit on the X1C or P2S etc.

My guess is the mass of the bed that is the majority of the problem.

Not sure what the mass of the H2D bed is but my 6+ y/o toolchanger has a 6.3mm x 305mm x 305mm cast aluminum bed that weighs about 1.6kg and I’m still using the same LDO POM nuts from when I built it. I did have an issue with burrs on the LDO lead screws chewing up the POM nuts when I first built it but I replaced those within the first month of the build. Knock on wood, the brass nuts on my H2D seem fine.
