Another thief among us

Andrew prints is the user name. I had one of my models successfully removed from his profile. After a bit of research, it seems as if all the models on this users page are stolen and uploaded with commercial licenses.

I reported the user, so hopefully they get the ban hammer.

As long as hosting sites make fortunes with hosting models to pay or free nothing will change.
The issue of stolen models is about as old now as 3D printing itself and so far no hoster did more than to offer questionable user reporting options.

In my experience of a couple of thousand reports, BL will only remove individual models if you individually report them.

I have tried and failed multiple times to say “This model and every other model needs reviewing from this user as they are (or are mostly) stolen works or have no photo evidence of a print” or whatever the reporting reason was.

I have only ever experienced one proactive review by BL.

I have a totally different experience. I’ve only reported about 5 different profiles, but every one of them was accepted and taken down.

Repeated reports don’t seem to bother @MakerWorld either, thievery continues to be the easy way to level and profit for the losers. Makers would love to see a strict 3 strike policy, with a total deletion of the said profile.

It’s possible your experience would change if you chose the gap from 5 to over 2,000.

Still some turds in the punch bowl… kind of glad most of my designs suck.
I also design shirts for amazon and have had a few of my big selling designs stolen, filed 51 dmca complaints in 1 month and got them all taken down but 8 months later some vietnamese guy tried to counter claim me and google told me unless I show proof of my copyright attorney they would reinstate it, even after I presented all my original photoshop and art files, needless to say I dont have an attorney for that so now others are making money from my stolen designs.
