Also, for my second wood-only print project i am printing miniatures (not painting / or TTWG) as a gift for someone with a .4mm. I wouldn’t bother with miniatures with the .6 at 28/32mm scale…
I’ve noticed that once the finish was so smooth you couldn’t really detect layer lines by touch, another time it was like roughly cut wood. So we’ll see..

The Bambu percentage is much lower, maybe 10%.
I think you’re right. It doesn’t stain well at all, and I couldn’t darken it by printing hotter. Usually get something with higher content filament.
Have you ever tried that g-code postprocessor that simulates wood grain by cooking the filament more in a pseudo-random pattern?

I have used wood filament and it’s not even close to being like wood because it is still mostly plastic. It seems gimmicky to me and stopped using it.
It looks similar to matte PLA but can tell there are particles in there. It doesn’t really stain well, works best with a .06 or larger nozzle, and needs drying. I’ve never had adhering problems but moisture was an issue.
It didn’t provide enough appeal and stuck with the basic filaments - PLA, PETG, ABS, etc. one can paint or use oil stain on some of the plastics hence no need for the wood. Plus now with more “appearance” options in slicers, to me, they provide a better visual.
